What If Metropolis: Materials

I thought it would be good to get a feeling for the types of textures that will be in my final render. So, I made a material sheet practising drawing a range of textures for my project, to go along with my supporting research pdf.

What If MetroPolis: Influence Boards

I've put together some influence boards to help design aspects and orthographes for the project.

What If Metropolis: Thumbnails

I've done a few thumbnails in colour looking at the types of objects and structures that will be visible in my final render, based off of my chosen painting. Looking at getting ideas for power plants, derelict homes and pipes. Trying to understand different shapes involved in the buildings and the kind of colours they each use when in the condition they are in.

Animation Principles: Anticipation

I practised a new principle of animation today, which was anticipation. to do this I animated a figure throwing a ball, both with and without anticipation to show the difference adding anticipation can have. I found my animations actually used some of the other principles too like; arcs in the arms, a blur and even squash and stretch on the ball. I'm pretty surprised how much of a difference anticipation can add, it made the first gif have so much more energy and character than the gif showing no anticipation and overall looked far better than the second gif.

Life Drawing: Gesture

Today, I was trying to learn how to draw in gesture, by first watching part 1 of Proko's 'Drawging In Gesture' video tutorials on YouTube. Then went off and found a video that showed a bunch of life drawing images with people posing and holding the pose for a minute to three minutes and really tried to capture the gesture in each pose. My first few aren't great but, I definitely feel like I started to get the hang of it the more poses I drew.  Also the poses were all funky and bendy which threw me off and made it way more difficult than what I had done before in session because the figures weren't just sitting or standing.  Online Video Links: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=74HR59yFZ7Y&ab_channel=Proko https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mNNSwITdPIM&t=1043s&ab_channel=NewMastersAcademy

Illustrator: Comic Strips

Following some online tutorials and resource packs I made two different comic strips in Adobe Illustrator, using clipping masks and copy pasting assets, importing images and inputting custom text.
