Contexts: Draft Essay

 Gris: Losing Loved Ones

Fantastic Voyage: Idea

For this project we have to create a fully realised educational science based 3D animation based around one of three categories: 'Energy', 'Evolution' or 'Plastics'. I'm going to choose to show the history behind amber, and show maybe some jewelry and go back through its creation and show its evolution to become the stone people love today. Because I find it to be quite interesting personally, as the stone originates from ancient tree sap. Which was buried and encased various fossils of creatures and insects some pieces of amber even holding dinosaur parts and feathers. Immediately off the top of my head I imagine seeing a piece of amber jewelry being presented and zooming into it and having maybe the music reverse and you see how the amber came to be. I really like this idea because I think the final result I can picture is definitely within my skill level so I think I can make something worth while whilst also giving me a chance to maybe try work on my mod...

Script to Screen: Storyboard

Finished storyboard for the projects storyline.

Soundscapes: Reflective Statement

Reflective statement and all finished audio clips.

Soundscapes: IMG3 Finished

 Final result for IMG3.

Soundscapes: IMG2 Finished

 The final audio for IMG2.

Soundscapes: IMG3 Edited Sounds

These were the edited noises for the third image.

Soundscapes: IMG2 Edited Sounds

These were the sounds I decided would work best edited another way.

Soundscapes: IMG3 Original Sounds

The third image looked almost ethereal in a sense to me and looked like it might be draining some sort of liquid or slime maybe through the black hole in the upper right of the image.

Soundscapes: IMG2 Original Noises

For the second image I thought it would sound quite static and it looks like it'd probably pulse and wave. Then green stem like things in the image reminded me of a brooms bristles.

SoundScapes: IMG1 30 Second Audio

My edit for how my first of the three images sounds in 30 seconds

Film Review: Jaws

I just finished watching Jaws and I found so strange that you literally never saw the shark till you were about an hour in. However, I get how that'd build suspense but, when I was younger I remembered seeing the shark so much more which was odd. I think the mayor was probably my least favourite character, I found him to just come across as stupid since he wouldn't close the beach. It's really interesting watching older films again and just realising how stupid characters are in films. It makes me wonder whether films like jaws would do as well today if they were released for the first time to modern film and the same script. Jaws was also much goofier than I remembered the way the shark kind of bobs up and down for a while when you first see him and he just bites the air for a while as the characters on boat real in barrels.  I'd say this is a film I would probably rewatch in the future but I don't know that I like the film all too much. It's just interesting ...

Script to Screen: Potential Storyboard

A simple storyboard showing the general scenes and shots I'd like to aim for in the animations, this is only a practise though and doesn't follow my written script great. I thought it would be a good idea to experiment with a different progression and maybe try to cut shots in places.

Script to Screen: Story Logline

A general logline covering the general flow I aim to achieve with my animatics:
