I just finished watching Jaws and I found so strange that you literally never saw the shark till you were about an hour in. However, I get how that'd build suspense but, when I was younger I remembered seeing the shark so much more which was odd. I think the mayor was probably my least favourite character, I found him to just come across as stupid since he wouldn't close the beach. It's really interesting watching older films again and just realising how stupid characters are in films. It makes me wonder whether films like jaws would do as well today if they were released for the first time to modern film and the same script. Jaws was also much goofier than I remembered the way the shark kind of bobs up and down for a while when you first see him and he just bites the air for a while as the characters on boat real in barrels.
I'd say this is a film I would probably rewatch in the future but I don't know that I like the film all too much. It's just interesting seeing how a film that I actually knew when I was younger ages over time.
